Following South Africa in 2010 and the Rio de la Plata region in 2011, India was the country in focus on 5 December 2012 at the 3rd Logistics Forum, organised by the Kieserling Foundation and Jacobs University. Whereby the previous two forums highlighted countries or regions whose potential for trade and logistics appear to be undervalued, the most recent forum concentrated on India’s chances and how taking advantage of these can be highly risky.

Like in the past, the Logistics Forum was one of the most highly attended logistics events in the region in 2012. Professor Jens Froese led participants through the programme, which traditionally is opened by a dance or music group from the university ... > more

HIGH ACHIEVERS

THE KIESERLING FOUNDATION SPONSORS BREMEN UNIVERSITY’S DEUTSCHLANDSTIPENDIUM SCHOLARSHIP

The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship was launched in the winter semester of 2011 at state-owned and state-approved universities in Germany. It provides financial support to gifted and high-performing students amounting to 300 euros per month, irrespective of income. In addition to prior academic performance, selection is also based on a candidate’s social commitment and specific personal achievements - such as how they have successfully overcome hurdles in their own academic life.
An overview of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship

  • Who is it for? In the medium term, up to 160,000 students, i.e. 8% of all students in Germany.
  • How much is it? 300 euros per month.
  • Who pays it? Private sponsors pay 150 euros; the Federal Government contributes 150 euros.

Education is Germany's most important resource. New technologies and increasingly sophisticated products and services increase the demand for highly qualified junior staff. As a sponsor, we are helping tomorrow's high achievers to focus on a challenging course of education.

With effect from the summer semester of 2011, the Kieserling Foundation, together with Bremen University, will be supporting the Federal Government’s national scholarship system for three years.
